Wildlife care is all voluntary!
Both shelters are set up to look after our precious native animals that are orphaned &/or injured. Unlike a veterinary hospital, there are no ambient noises or smells to stress out the animal that are recovering with us & because of the shelters positions next to the river and lake, it is very natural.
Throughout the time animals are in our care they require a range of specially formulated milk powders, medications, bedding & feed. To give you an idea; it costs approximately $1800 to rear an orphaned joey kangaroo, around $600 to rear an orphaned koala joey & that is not to mention those animals we get in which need medical treatments. Vet costs are NOT covered either so everything is paid for by the shelter owners.
We receive thousands of calls yearly for information &/or assistance with native animal encounters.
We are a not for profit & operate purely on donations. If you can help or would like to make a donation please see our ...read more
