Koondrook Caravan Park is situated on the bank of the Murray River and Gunbower Creek in the historic township of Koondrook. The park overlooks the Gunbower Island, which is the largest inland island in the southern hemisphere and is accessible one kilometre away by a beautiful natural Redgum Bridge - rebuilt in 2000. The island covers an area of 26,000 hectares with forest accounting for more than 19,000 hectares. The Redgum Forest starts at Koondrook and extends 56 kilometres to the Torrumbarry Weir. It is common for visitors to see a range of native birds and wildlife. Koondrook is a lovely historic town with a population of more than 800 people. It is well serviced and close to the twin town of Barham in New South Wales. Walk the Redgum Statue walk along the Murray River. The park is set in a picturesque and shady setting featuring self-contained ensuite cabins, ensuite sites, powered sites and on site caravans. The park also offers electric barbecues, laundry, playground, camp sink, boat ramp, and caravan storage. Complimentary fishing, tennis and other sporting gear and bike hire available. Dogs welcome on application (excluding school holidays). The park is 50 metres from general store, hotel and post office and 200 metres from swimming pool and tennis courts. Barham situated a short three minute drive across the Murray River in New South Wales offers plenty more to see and do. The Barham Services Club offers regular entertainment Friday to Sunday evenings along with a bistro, dining room and coffee shop and approximately 100 gaming machines. The Barham Golf and Country Club offers a superb 18-hole grass green championship course.
