The BEST Fish n' Chips on the peninsula.The Koonya Hotel is located in the beautiful town of Sorrento on the Mornington Peninsula.
We are open Monday to Sunday serving meals all day. Our menu consists of fresh local seafood, burgers, pizzas and all the pub classics available to eat in or take away.
Our fresh seafood market is open Friday through to Sunday selling fresh local seafood direct to the public.

Go to this place if you are looking for below average food with worst customer service.There is no table seating and I was asked to move from a table outdoors across the beach after I paid and sat down. There were other groups of 4 sitting in the same seatings. When I said no since I have 2 kids and there are other groups of 4 in the same seating the exact words of the owner/manager was “Have you paid” with a smirk on his face to which I answered yes and his comments were “let’s see if you get your food” if not for my hungry kids I would have not spent a minute at your disgusting place. I was so humiliated in-front of all the others and felt discriminated due to my ethnicity. Would discourage everyone to going to this establishment.
Had a disappointing experience at this restaurant. We waited an hour for our food, and one order was overlooked. The steak sandwich had undercooked bacon, and the kids' chicken burger was served cold. The staff was unhelpful and dismissive. When I requested bacon on a separate plate, I was met with condescension. Although they refunded the missing steak sandwich, the overall service was subpar. The restaurant is overpriced, especially since customers have to fetch their own cutlery and order at the bar. Hoping for improved customer service in the future.
Im so impressed with this place! It was everything Id hoped for, yummiest FRESH seafood Ive had in a long while and an amazing location.
Can I just give a shout out to the King Prawns! $14.50 for twelve prawns peeled and cooked in garlic sauce to die for. Craving fulfilled! Plus a side of yummy herb chips for $5.00.
Add the park bench overlooking the amazing beach and few cold ones and crystal blue water and a 27 degree day Just blissful!
I highly recommend you visit Koonya if you get the chance, the food is cooked fast, the staff are incredibly welcoming and the food is just amazing.
The grilled seafood platter is delish too!
