Ky Chow
This classic, action-packed Chinese restaurant is all about fast-paced Guangzhou regional food. There aren't too many restaurants in Adelaide where hunger generates enthusiasm, but this is one of them. Concertina doors can open wide on to the street if it's hot, and there are a couple of pavement tables. Tables are set with bowls, chopsticks and fork and spoon. Service is quick and efficient. Drinks include Wall signs announce dishes such as baked trout in garlic and butter sauce, crispy skin duck, crunchy sweet and sour beef. A sea lettuce soup is all iodine and invigorating salt-water flavours, while a bean curd entree comes soft inside and lightly fried with salt and pepper. Shan Tung chicken is crispy-skinned meat, sauced with soy and lifted by a gremolata of garlic, chilli and coriander.

I have been dining at Ky Chow for a number of years, at the previous site and now at the new, more modern site next to Commonwealth Bank.
The new restaurant now completes the dining experience for me. Good food, efficient services and probably the best bathroom in an Asian eatery on Gouger St.
The wine list also needs an honorable mention as many other Asian eateries on Gouger are don not compare with Ky Chow.
Fav dishes: Bayberry Duck, Shanton Chicken, Salt & Pepper Tofu (and their Squid), Vegetarian Roll, Shallot Pancake.
