I'd been here along time ago when La Grillade was more an upmarket French Restaurant than a French Grill as I recall, so when we had some cash to splurge it came to mind. Thinking about the name now, maybe it was always so, but I do recall it being $160 for dinner and that was 15 years ago!
The service on a busy Saturday night was very professional and attentive, however due to the noise my order was misheard. Nonetheless it was cooked to perfection with subtle flavours to be savoured.
If they did something about the noise I'd go back, else I'd pick a less busy night - some people seem to like that environment but I don't.
Had a great time here with my family. Set in a renovated home, the place as a cottage-like feel with a courtyard and a warm, homely, setting. The escargot was perfectly cooked, full of garlic buttery goodness. The scallops were also seared to perfection and were delicious. For mains, we had the steak, which was juicy and the sauce was a beautiful accompaniment. The service was exceptional, our waiter was attentive- pre-empted our needs and was courteous and constantly checking to see if we needed anything from mustard, to drinking water, to extra spoons so we could share dessert. It is a little pricey, but it is a nice treat, in pleasant surroundings.
I went to this nice restaurant due to a family occasion. It's a lovely-looking little place in Crows Nest, a little mediocre in the front but very cozy inside. We had a great time with the delicious food and our waiter was the perfect gentleman. Of course, the place needs a little polishing to be perfect.
