Most disgusting, terrible food I have even eaten. No exaggeration. DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY, TIME AND EFFORT GOING THERE. The pizza wasn't cooked properly, the base was raw. The pasta sauce had no flavor and the pasta was over cooked and falling apart. We have been there a few times and each time it became worse and worse, I don't even know why we went back after the first time. I think because it is close and we thought it was a once off and to try them again. Big BIG mistake. We will never go back and will tell as many people. On this occasion I ordered take away. I called them back to tell them the pizza was not cooked and the management told me I was wrong and they were cooked. (I wouldn't call if it was cooked) then they said not to complain and just don't come back if I don't like the food. I tried to ask for my money back but they kept talking over the top of me, then hung up on me. Terrible service aswell.
Located along Canterbury Road, La Porchetta in Heathmont is a fairly good family pizza restaurant. The decor - each wall painted a different bright colour - definitely favours cheerfulness over tastefulness, but the floor is carpeted and the restaurant looks comfy and kid-friendly. I am a fan of La Porchetta's menu, which includes a selection of pizzas, pastas and other Italian foods, and features a picture of each dish. Service was well-timed and staff were friendly and attentive. My dining companion and I ordered two of the gourmet pizzas; however I found them both to be somewhat disappointing, as the amount of topping and flavour did not live up to the gourmet price tag. Nonetheless, it was not a bad pizza, and the prices are not exorbitant. While this is not my new favourite restaurant, I would return to try other items on the menu, and recommend La Porchetta in Heathmont to anyone seeking affordable Italian food in a relaxed family atmosphere.
