The Lake Munmorah Bakehouse has an amazing range of cakes, pies and bread. Everything is well priced. not too expensive and the quality is great - you get what you pay for that's for sure. I am a HUGE fan of the cream horn, but, I don't know if it's *me* but it seems to be shrinking in size! The Chicken pies are great, but on this visit I opted for a sausage roll, and I was NOT disappointed. Covered in a very light pastry, chocked full of meat, with a good flavour and heated through thoroughly it was a great *on the run* snack. Along with a cream horn we tried the Cheesecake Slice, it was a good size slice of cheesecake with again a lovely flavour and is definitely one I would recommend. In the past we have bought a range of cakes from here for family get-togethers and everyone has thoroughly enjoyed them. Always clean and tidy, great staff and really nice cakes :-) We don't go anywhere else when we are in Lake Munmorah!
Oh My, I just LOVE this bakery! Living in Western Sydney I grew up with a pastry called a *Cream Horn* . A few years back chatting with family we reminisced about the foods you just don't see anymore and the cream horn was one. No one had seen one for years and years, then the Lake Munmorah Bakehouse opened........... apart from some lovely baked breads - the white toast slice bread is just too good!, and a range of cakes apple turn-overs, pies and more the good old Cream Horn was back!!! I love the cakes from here, they are good quality, very well priced and good value for the money. The staff are so friendly and the range of breads and pies is amazing.
