Lambton Park Hotel

It was a dark and dreary Wednesdy night, and the missus had been on my back all month about taking her out for some local grub. I'd heard about this little Italian joint attached to Lambton Park Hotel through a few mates, and they seemed to be making quite a name for themselves, so I dusted off the crown and figured they were worthy of the kings royal spoon. Upon arrival I was pleased to be greeted with CHOICE: the dine in restuarant menu (average meal price of $20 - $30) or the pub seating menu (average meal price $10-$20). Luckily for my hip pocket, I chimed in for the pub menu before the missus even got a word in! (LOL). The staff were super friendly; smiley, bubbly, Italian looking, but not constantly yelling at each other. Felt really cosy and safe. I ordered a garlic and cheese bread as my entree ($6) and a large carbonara pasta for my main ($14.50). Honest prices that I was willing to pay (and would soon understand the value ). Heard this place was good with a new management but very mistaken. They need someone who can cook!! The ambience is old and dull and feel like your in someones old house. Food was tasteless and a very pricey. The grilled snapper was over cooked, tough and void of any taste. There was no other condiment to flavour it or the tasteless vegies. The mayonaise ?? for the salt and pepper squid was a bowl of creamy nothing. Very bad food, dear prices and we recommend you give it a miss.
