If you happen to be in this area of town and are strapped for time looking for a quick takeaway lunch option, then I suggest you give La Moon groceries a visit.
La Moon is not just like any ordinary groceries that sell packaged foods; they also stock out very affordable pre-made lunch boxes for takeaway. For $7.50 a box (as of a few weeks ago) you can get yourself a Hainan chicken ice (complete with the sauce and cucumber garnish), vermicelli dishes, and many other Thai dishes in between and they are of acceptable size too.
But that does not stop there. La Moon also sells variety of cakes (in which you can buy by the slice) as well as Thai sweets and desserts all for takeaway.
I tried their Hainan chicken rice and it was quite nice and was pleased with the quality and it was still very fresh.
