Spent a night at Lane Cove National Park in the cabins and it was great. Which it didn't rain but I will be heading back again. The nature tour around the park at night is great. Seeing the animals that come out at night with the ranger and explaining them and pointing them out was number 1. Next time we will stay a more of the day and use all the park areas. Rain in Sydney was the cause of many issues everywhere over the weekend.
Last week we came here for a bbq and picnic. This park is actually really big, and has wonderful picnic and bbq areas. There is plenty to do air, from bushwalking, to kayaking, to cycling or just an old fashioned picnic.
There are also the local animals (we happened to see an iguana (or goanna) and the kids were chasing it around until it ran into the bushes.
The only complaint I have is that the person at the toll booth was a jerk. I asked nicely how much and directions to our booked picnic area and they were very rude in their response.
Other than that, definitely worth a visit if you are looking for a place to kick back and take in the wonder of nature.
