Located beside Balaclava Station on Carlisle Street, Las Chicas is a cosy village café, which prides itself on serving wholesome, quality food and coffee. They use only local, fresh and sustainable produce for their extensive menu, which as well as serving breakfast all day, provides a range of lunch options and caters for takeaways and functions. I really enjoyed the fritters and a poached eggs and they are always busy so be sure to come before 10am to avoid the lines.

I really miss living in Balaclava as I used to come here all of the time. They do amazing all day breakfast and I love their chai. It's in my top 3 favourite cafes in Melbourne.

Apparently Carlisle Street is the new Acland Street so Las Chicas is the breakfast place to hang out. The food is surprisingly good and ingredients are locally sourced from organic farmers. Service is friendly and prompt although it is a very busy place and sometimes gets so noisy you wonder why you bothered. The food is good-pick a quiet time if you can find one to enjoy it!

A very busy place on weekends, there was a queue for seats when we were here. Latte is good, the BBB, Bacon & Egg roll and Ham Hock were fine. Interesting menu items. Prices are a bit expensive and service was fast and friendly but can't help feeling a bit rushed since once the plate was empty, it was taken away immediately, not checking if one had finished with it. A friend had not completely finished when it was quickly taken away. At one point, we were checking if others are waiting for seats but no one was. Other than this, we'd come back to try other menu items.
