We are @ to loose our whole consignment due to poor service by this company. My consignment from overseas actually landed in Sydney Docks on 2nd Dec 2010. This company happened to be clearing agents in Sydney, as chosen by my overseas agent. We submitted necessary papers and were told by person from this company that they are still waiting for ship to berth. Until 20th Dec, we were asking them if consignment had reached shore. We were always told that they are still trying to find out. Suddenly on 22nd Dec, we were told that we will have to pay A$1000/- as "Depot Storage" from 11th Dec 2010. Since we are being penalised for poor admin/ communication by Latitude 34 Degrees Pty Ltd, we are lodging a complaint with "Fair Trading Dept" in Sydney. We lost almost a month of time and are also being forced to pay A$1000 for mistakes by Latitude 34 Degrees Pty Ltd personnel. Hope this company can wake up & improve their customer service.
Unfortunately, when people are shipping their personal effects, they are often confused by the statutory formalities that must be completed before they can take delivery of their goods. Sometime too, the language barrier presents a problem for the shipper and agent alike.
Both sets of circumstance occurred in this instance, and in keeping with company polcy, Latitude were able to alleviate the financial impact for the importer and no further action was necessary.
I agreed with mdphatak, I had similar case with mdphatak and I have to pay extra $1100 and my goods have been delayed for almost 3weeks.
