Lava in Balaclava

I had the Israeli breakfast and it was great. There are lots of choices for breakfast, including the salads which looked too big for breakfast for me. My friends had the shakshuka and the potato rosti and both looked good. Although staff is friendly, service can be patchy. We had to wait a long time for both our food and our coffee and we had to remind them we were waiting.

This rating is based on the coffee only. Very ordinary. But service was good, a funky place, colourful and artistic interior. Might go for a meal here next time.

It is great place to eat breakfast and drink coffee in the morning before catching train to work.

One of my favourite cafe along Balaclava Rd. The service is fantastic, staff are lovely and has a very funky and arty interior. You can go in for their sensational breakfast, or just grab a cup of coffee with a newspaper or a book in hand. My favourite dish of theirs is smoked salmon scrambled eggs with dill - yum!

One of the cafes in a row of 3 on carlisle st. Perfect spot for a Saturday/ Sunday morning breakfast. Lots of unusual dishes to choose from. The pancakes are amazing! both indoor and outdoor seating.
