Dine in the ash grove or indoors at Lavandula, ten minutes drive from Daylesford. La Trattoria offers the cuisine of Northern Italy and canton Ticino, using seasonal produce picked from their garden. With its 1850's golden stone farm buildings constructed by Italians who stayed after the gold rush, the farm is good to visit in all seasons. You can walk through the picking garden, orchard, vines or olive grove and see how they turn their farm grown food into preserves and their lavander into products good for the body and soul. A perfect day trip from Melbourne - relax, breathe, lie on a rug, be yourself.
Fancy frolicking in fields of lavender? Cobbled courtyards shaded by vineyards and rolling fields of this ancient herb in foggy mists are found at Lavandula as well as a lovely cafe for a herbal tisane. Beautiful farm, not only lavender but also olives and other produce. Including some animals such as a pig, chickens, alpacas, ostrich.. there is a shop and a cafe. Relaxing and fresh atmosphere. Food are ok, people are friendly. Festivals attract entertainers and different stalls selling their goods in the farm. Been here several times. There is a small entry fee but each time we thoroughly enjoyed it. Perfect for young family too although there are only 2 toilets available. More with portable ones during festivals.
