I blame Lawson's for inciting a dvd buying binge that will not abate. Most new discs and sealed are $5-$8. And where else to buy such exotic box sets and cheaply? Examples: the Yakuza Papers (6 discs) $60; Heimat (7) $60; Lawrence Oliver Presents (3) $30;Little Dorritt BBC (4) $18; the Beatles Box $150. And such surprises as Miles Davis live in Copenhagen & Rome 1969 dvd $15 but amazon lists at $100. So its not just about bargains but about wonderful surprises. The guys behind the counter add to its edge-look like film noir extras..but helpful and well-informed. They happily put stuff aside too.
