Came as a guest! Came for the big breakfast and it really lives up to its name. I just couldn't finish it. My missus had this omelette with chicken and spinach and feta, the salad that came with it was huge but what impressed me most of the tomato chutney that accompanied it,really works well together
Alfresco dining with enough room to fit a pram.
I saw plenty of people have takeaway coffees but didn't try one myself
This cafe under Berkelouw bookshop has always been busy. Recently they have changed something - maybe just the presentation of food, but everything is so pretty now. Tastes great too of course, like the pancakes & big breakfast. Portions are very generous & coffee is good and strong. Order and pay at the counter, grab a number and find an al fresco seat to enjoy.
I came here for brekkie as I had seen a lot online about it so thought I would give it a try. Whilst the photos people post look great I unfortunately was disappointed by what I got. I ordered the French toast with a side of crispy bacon and a large cappuccino. The coffee whilst it was campos, and I usually enjoy campos, was burnt. You just can’t afford to make bad coffee in the innerwest or anywhere nowadays. The French toast was nice however I didn’t realise the maple syrup came already poured on the toast, and when I mean ‘on the toast’ I actually mean drowning the toast. My side of crispy bacon was also more on the burnt side than crispy side. Overall I was a little disappointed with my meal.
This cafe is alfresco (but with roof covering) and certainly very busy on a weekend. Brother/Sister to Rozelle Espresso, they offer the same menu of their marvellous Rueben Sandwich, French toast, burgers and more. On this particular occasion we tried the pancakes - 3 stacked and topped with maple syrup and fruit, it was an extremely generous serve! We also got the eggs benedict, atop a slice or sourdough and presented with edible flowers. You can have this with ham, bacon or salmon. At this venue, order from the counter and you can also select some
cakes from the counter.
Coffee was good, we had a long black and a chai. Lovely place to have your brunch and enjoy th sunshine.
The coffee is delicious, the meal servings are generous and the menu is huge. Leichardt espresso is the sister Cafe of rozelle espresso and the popular tiny giant in Petersham.
As well as coffee there is a selection of fresh juices and smoothies. For brunch I can recommend the smashed avo bruschetta - two large pieces of soy linseed bread topped with cherry tomatoes, danish feta & balsamic glaze. I also added smoked salmon which made this a filling and satisfying start to the day. Equally as filling was the brekkie burrito, your choice of chorizo or bacon with hash brown, cheese, smashed avo & tomato relish.
If you are in the inner west pay these guys a visit!
