Really interesting and intriguing concept to have a "pay as you want" system in this restaurant.
They have a sealed box by the door and on the way out, you simply "pay what you want" for your meal.

Pay as you want Veg/Vegan food in Newtown. Does a roaring trade, unsurprisingly. The menu changes regularly as per the rotating staff and ingredients, sometimes the dishes are a bit average but sometimes there are some real standouts. The curry plate seems to be a regular winner :) Liked the touch of a small glass of chai when you arrive and a little bite of dessert if you like at the end.

I love the 'pay what you want' system here, it is a really positive community addition. I have been back numerous times and the food is always so filling and fragrant. If there's a bit of a queue the friendly staff come outside with warm chai tea..actually the best I have ever had and I really want the recipe! The limited menu makes choosing easy and you really can't go wrong. They have a lot of hearty dishes such as fragrant coconut currys. I will continue to support this place for as long as they'll have me

Foods are always yummy here. Its such a great initiative that they are there to help people who cant afford meals.

Great place and an even better initiative. The vibe here is just fantastic. The two times I've been the food has been fabulous, too. I've paid $20 each time by donation, absolutely worth every dollar, if I weren't a student it would have been more!
Can be very busy, in no way is this a negative though, only adds to the atmosphere. Go and check it out!
