Leo's Spaghetti Bar
Many restaurants come and go in Fitzroy Street but Leo's has stood the test of time. The first Italian spaghetti restaurant in Melbourne, established in 1956 for the Melbourne Olympics, it is still serving classic, vintage Italian dishes. The decor has recently been refurbished and the menu incorporates the best cuts of meat with the freshest pasta and vegetables. The house speciality is homeade pasta, smothered in traditional sauces, but don't forget the veal, chicken and beef dishes - Melburnians have loved them for almost 50 years!

Leo's does what it does well...late night meals, great coffee and great gelato (not that many flavours but the ones they have are good and authentic) Service is prompt and it's always busy and sometimes noisy. They also deliver now which is great for those late night snacks with friends.
Service isnt with a smile. This restaurant is flat out, and big to accommodate crowds and sports fans, families and couples. So it's big and with good reason. If youre after a yummy full Australian-Italian menu, late at night? The food here is pretty damn good. Mistakes arent made. And much my sisters relief, they do have gluten free pizza bases.
I enjoyed a risotto. The rest of our party went for desserts and coffees. We stayed way too long but it was of no concern to staff who happily serve d and cleared intermittently.
