Throughout the first yr and a half of my dogs life I took my dog to see diferent vets there in relation 2 my dog being lame and my gut instinct something was wrong. Everytime I was told its a mild sprain or theres nothing wrong, and I was treated like a hypochondriac. I went to another vet clinic and demanded xrays which showed hip dysplasia in both hips. I went back to leslie st for a course of injections and was verbaly assaulted in the consult room by 2 vets who told me im a terrible owner because there was a mild operation in the first year of life they couldve done to ease lifelong pain. I was then told if I dont do 2 full hip replacements I was an unkind neglectful owner who should not own a dog. Ps I had a top specialist tell me my dog does NOT need hip replacements. The receptionist was always on private phone calls and would eventually get off the phone by grunting. She made you feel very guilty standing in the line waiting to pay.
What an AMAZING FAMILY at the Leslie Street Vet. Our Toy Cavoodle underwent surgery for a Luxating Patella, a common problem with Toy Canines. From the first consultation to current post-op care they have treated our adored Lulu as their own. She has just had her 3rd post-op consult; as my husband was parking the car near the Vet's office she became very excited, tail wagging and ran in to be greeted with excited voices and lots of cuddles.
We walked out of this place today totally traumatised. Not only because of bad news for one of our beloved pets but also because of the way we were treated by admin staff. Young rude incompetent unprofessional. Refused to let me speak to a manager when I telephoned afterwards to complain. Appear to care only about $$$ not actual animals. Terrible, terrible service.
The vets at Leslie Street have cared for my assortment of dogs and cats for over ten years now. The service and caring have always been first-class, and they are reasonable with their prices. Given the amount of rescue work and overseas charity support they do, I find that to be outstanding.
