Sorry you had this experience. The restaurant you went to was a different concern to Lilydale Herb Farm, but on the same premises (on Maroondah Highway).
Lilydale Herb Farm began in Mangans Road, Lilydale. They served cups of tea, scones and cakes-it was lovely. For a short time, they shared the premises on Maroondah Highway with a restaurant run by different people. It did not have the same homely and caring atmosphere that I have always experienced at Mangans Road.
May I humbly suggest to you, donm, that you do yourself the biggest favour and visit Lilydale Herb Farm at Mangans Road. You will be pleasantly rewarded. It is up high, it is off the main highway, the people there are very hospitable, the herb garden is exquisite, and the scones and cakes are lovely. Enjoy!
