My go-to seamstress for almost three decades, Lily is at the pinnacle of her career. Lily’s understanding of the male form, attention to details, execution, are second to none. Each time I have a garment altered, Lily ensures it provides a ‘tailor- made’ fit.

I had my pants to be cut. It cost me $20/a pair of pants (can you imagine what my pants cost like only $25). Very expansive. The service is also not as quick as people mention in the reviews. It took them more than a day to get it done. What bothered me the most, in my case, was that they did not tell a definitive time when I could come to pick it up. They just kept saying they would text me when I phoned them.
That price, that time frame, and those conditions around picking them up are either common or exceptionally reasonable.
This is a follow-up because I have been to Lily's a further number of times, to alter hems, to alter necklines, to alter sizes, to alter knitware etc. On each and every single occasion, I have had total and complete honesty - Lily will sometimes advise to NOT do something, even though it means less business for her. This is the mark of a true professional. She will discuss exactly what you want, measure if you need it, and then charge an exceptionally reasonable price. A big chain will charge you twice the price for the same quality of work. I still maintain that this is the BEST place to get quality alterations done fast at a reasonable price.
Lily is absolutely the best. She is an expert with alterations, has the loveliest manner (ie perfect customer service), and she is speedy. In central Sydney this is THE PLACE to have your alterations - do not even THINK about going anywhere else. She altered 2 shirts (hems straightened for my husband), and did some alterations/improvements on my top) - exactly what we wanted, and at a very reasonable price.
