Stumbled across this when we were at Double Bay and it was one restaurant that was pretty busy but still had tables available. It is quite a spacious restaurant with an open ambiance. We sat at the front alfresco with canopy shades enjoying the atmosphere of the suburb which, surprisingly, was pretty loud at this end of town.
We received a very excellent service from both the staff and the owner. They would strike up friendly conversations and it was very lovely. We were very hungry that night so we ordered lots! The garlic bread was quite plentiful with quite a large serving and were quite nice. The squid-ink pasta and seafood spaghetti were also quite delicious. We also had a calamari dish and grilled chicken and those were also nice. For desserts, we had a panna cotta and a tiramisu, perfect to end the night.
Overall, the dishes have good quality and the slightly high price points are reasonable for this end of town.
We have been going to Limoncello on & off for many years. We recently went for a Sunday lunch & as usual the food & service were great. Highlights were the pappardelle pasta with pancetta in a light cream sauce & the traditional affogato espresso. The coffee was some of the best I have tasted could even beat my own brew from my stovetop espresso pot!#reviewtowin
Awful!! Went there with a living social voucher. We were greeted at the door by a staff who went to seat us at the front of the restaurant but just as staff did said, "Oh you're here on the living social deal, right this way". We were then sat at the back of the restaurant with all the group tables. Area looked like a hospital canteen or a food court. We were then given a "Living Social" menu despite the deal saying we could order off the a la carte menu. Food was not just bland but bad. Mains not served with any sides - like something out of an RSL bistro. Ordered spatchcock and received one wing of a spatchcock - devoured in 2 bites. Veal with lemon sauce my partner ordered was akin to a meat soup. The veal looked like it had been boiled and tasted off. My dessert didn't arrive for an hour and I asked for something else. Was given a strawberry mousse cake which was vile - like something from other restaurant. You needed a knife to cut through it it was so full of gelatin. ...read more
Extremely over-prized for below average quality of food. We were there with a party of 6 and every one of us was disappointed. Service was friendly but all food was too salty, really nothing special and way too expensive. We had brought gluten-free pizza base for a child with gluten intolerance and asked for some tomato sauce and anchovies to put on top. They charged $18.00 for that... A simple piece of salmon with some lemon and a boring potato and cucumber salad for $34.00... Never again.
