Ever since I first stumbled across this place I have been wanting to have a meal here with my friends, and now I have done that twice. While it is more of a restaurant (as is clear by the name) people still come here for a drink or three, namely of beers made by the Mountain Goat Brewery (no surprise there), however there is the option of breakfast and lunch menus (though most of the food is that 'tries to be uniquely Australian and fails abysmally' type of food I think Lonely Planet calls it Mod Oz).
However, I still quite like this place, if only for the fact that it is a dedicated craft beer bar (or restaurant). The inside appears to be a converted warehouse, with a couple of rooms at the front designated as lounge areas (though there is no smoking in these rooms if that is what you want to do then you are unfortunately relegated out the front). Still, a pretty good place to grab a decent bite to eat, and not really that crowded either.
I celebrated my friend's birthday here and I had a great experience. Having a large group of us, we all had different taste in drinks and the waitress was very patient enough to explain the all the drinks in order to help us decide. When ordering food, we ordered too much and luckily the waitress was nice enough to suggest we remove an item. The pumpkin pizza is a must try, as well as the chilli mussels. The lamb pizza looked great, but sadly didn't taste as good as it looked, I found the yoghurt to overpowering.
One of the waiters must of overheard us talking that it was our friend's birthday and made the effort to get a candle and placed it on the brownie dessert that we ordered.
Thanks guys for making our dining experience extremely enjoyable!
Brought to you from the makers of the eponymous beer, this dining hall is a funky place with some very tasty treats! It's busy, trendy with warehouse chic, it's a fun place to knock back some beers and some wonderful cheese croquettes! It's even open for breakfast, if you're not too hung over!
