Since I work around the corner I thought I might check this place out. In fact it was a long time coming, however as it turned out, this place really didn't meet my expectations. Maybe it was just me, or maybe it was simply that the coffee really wasn't all that good. While I liked the location, with the plethora of coffee shops scattered around the city, there are plenty of other places to go to get a decent brew.
A compact cafe in Drewery Lane. It has lots of Asian inspired drinks and desserts. I had previously been there a while ago and had interesting desserts however when I returned this time around there wasn't the same ones I had previously. Nonetheless I tried the Matcha Cheesecake and Matcha Latte. It was still nice and the service is very friendly too.
In search for a great cup of matcha drink, I went to Little Rogue on a Sunday day. This hidden gem makes one of the best matcha drinks in the city. This little shop looks like a small house in one of the laneways off little Lonsdale specialises in coffee/matcha drinks.
I opted for iced matcha, something chilled on a sunny Melbourne day. For $6.90 for a small size was on the expensive end was something to be had on a chillaxing day with friends. This is a pre made mix, probably made in the morning mixed with a serve of whipped cream on top and a sprinkle of matcha to finish off.
Inside was a small place with aircon with a two small benches and one long bench is a cosy meeting place with friends but would have to takeaway if you don't get a seat. As this place only serves coffee/tea it didn't disappoint with their speciality.
