Wow. Well I can see I hadn't been the only victim of absolute hideous service here. One-star is even too high of a rating. I could not believe the degree of rudeness, lack of professionalism and over-all hospitality that was sorely lacking here. As I understand it, the food was to be quite good. I use the word 'was' because I had been informed that they are actually closing down. Little wonder. And I suppose, as looking over the other reviews, because they think their food is so superior, this mistakenly allows them to be act out with tasteless and outlandish behaviour. Our experience today had been very negative, to say the least. The waitstaff seemed a bit annoyed when we asked for separate checks, first off. Then the atmosphere had been very uncomfortable due to the music's volume. We came in for a coffee at around noon time. There were a total of three of us patrons in the cafe - no lunch crowd?? Though the music may have lent to the mediterranean ambiance, ...read more
LI am one to hardly ever complain about anything and I've worked in hospitality for 10 years so I understand what it's like, and we are regulars here, but we received terrible service.
We were at the cafe for breakfast for at least 45 minutes and our food hadn't come yet whilst 2 other tables who came in about 20-25 minutes after us got their food before us. As I was late for work and wanting to be diplomatic I was happy to pay for the food provided we could take it away. However, the staff did not allow us to take the food away so I just paid for our coffees and left.
Under no circumstance did the staff apologise.
I understand mistakes happen all the time, especially in a pressured environment such as in hospitality. However, these mistakes can be forgivable with politeness and an apology, which never happened.
It's ashame that this has occurred because I live in the area and the caf is beautiful but I will never be coming back.
This place is pretty cool but I have to say, my experience here has been mediocre at best.
It looks like somewhere a wizard of some kind of mysterious scholar might buy his coffee, but the service isn't amazing. It's never been bad, but yeah definitely not great. Something they need to keep in mind because there's a LOT of competition in the neighbourhood.
These guys don't deserve a 0 because their coffee and stuff is good, but they need to up their game in terms of service.
sorry guys.
Terrible - rule overload. These guys think that because they offer good food that they can be rude to you. If they only want to serve their regular customers then they should just ask non-regulars not to come in. I will never go back to this place and I will tell everyone that I know not to go there. Relax guys it's a cafe not a museum - and get over yourselves..
