Had a lovely lunch here on a great Sunday afternoon; mains and dessert.
Would say it is way more than "45 minutes from Sydney" for most Sydneysiders though.
Food and service were excellent.
My big bugbear though is that the 5% surcharge for Saturdays and 10% surcharge for Sundays is outrageous. Especially with the current governemnt reducing weekend penalty rates. The base price is already high; so 10% surcharge is significant - on a Saturday or Sunday their only cost that increases is their labour costs - rent, utilities, and ingredients are exactly the same as Mondyay-Friday so 5 or 10% surcharge for everything ordered is over the top.
Having had my grumble the staff were certainly professional, knowledgeable, helpful and personable. Our compliments also to the chef.
We had white wines from Orange and they were perfect for a relaxed Sunday lunch with good food.
A really nice place that has high quality food and their speciality is their dessert. They have a nice garden if you want to sit outside as well. My fave is their Rosemary Roasted Lamb Rack and Not Your Sundae with strawberry swirl ice cream, banana brulee, seasonal fruit, banana praline and chocolate wafer. The best part of the dessert is the combination of that foodgasmic banana brulee with the strawberry swirl ice cream.

When you arrive, you drive into a gravelled drive way and there little cottages dotted in the distance but the homestead where the restaurant is placed ...read more
