London Tavern

This pub was an old favourite of mine for a long time, and in a way it still is. I remember coming down here once with friends for drinks after the school term finished, and ended up making a ritual of it. However when we all disappeared off to university those nights also faded into oblivion. The place in a way has changed since then (they no longer have the games room out the back) and during the day it is mainly a restaurant (which serves some pretty decent food). However, on a Friday (and I suspect Saturday) night the London turns into a pretty cool nightspot. I have ventured down there a number of times, and while they generally only play commercial tunes, it is still a great place to while away the time.

It's been upgraded and it's much better. I went with a large group and they were organised with our orders. The food was good as was the service.

The London Tavern is a perfect hangout for jaded businessmen and underpaid secretaries. Dark, carpeted and lots of couches and TV screens, the drink specials are as cheap as the decor, and just as nasty. You can get really drunk really quickly, but the atmosphere is trashy.

the london tavern pulls a younger crowd massive line ups saturday nights. Get there early! The music is pretty good if you are looking to have a dance. sometimes it takes a while to get served at the bar... a little tip have your money out and ready for the bar staff to see you mean business.

I hadn't been to TLT a for a long time and got a chance to revisit for a work lunch. The refit looks great, the chairs were comfy and the menu has something for everyone. The serves were great, I only just managed to finish my burger. I don't think anyone was disappointed with their meal.
