Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary

Located in Fig Tree Pocket the Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary houses over 130 koalas, making it the largest koala sanctuary on the planet.
It's not just koalas though the zoo is home to wombats, dingos, native birds, kangaroos, echidnas, Tasmania devils, lizards, platypus and more.
Check the website for show times, admission and hours.

Dedicated to the conservation of Australian Wildlife, this place has been a popular setting for family snapshots since it opened in 1927. Even celebrities such as Cher and Mariah Carey have been photographed cuddling koalas here. As the name implies, there are plenty of koalas to visit – more than 130, in fact – and you are welcome to get up close. Kids love feeding the kangaroos and wallabies scattered across the reserve. You can see native birds, snakes, lizards and even a duck-billed platypus. Sheep-dog displays are always

This is an amazing must do for all brisbanite's and city visitors, cuddle koala's, pet kangaroo's and marvel at the beautiful birds and platypus. Prices are very reasonable even at the restaurant and you can happily eat lunch while watching the koalas in the outdoor seated area...There's even an indoor kids play area and stacks of room in the baby change!!! Highly recommend!

Not the easiest to get to by public transport, so unless you're willing to figure out the buses, you should go with a tour. If you want to hold a koala, though, this is the place to do it! You have to pay if you want pictures, but you get a quality print and you can have your friends take as many photos as you want as well. Otherwise, you can just cuddle and keep the memory in your head!

Family oass is great value of you go even just 3 times a year as you can get some great discounts in the restaurant and in the souvenir store, picked up an awesome mobile phone solar charger for an excellent price! Not to mention that you can get your photo taken with koalas!

Probably the only place where you will find the MOST amount of koalas and kangaroo at once in Brisbane! Haha

I loved this place! I felt like a little kid again exploring every inch of this zoo! The koalas were lovely especially and though we didnt pay to hold the koala for a picture, one of the zookeepers brought one out for us to pose next to.
