So sad to see a negative review for this place! My family & I have been coming to this particular restaurant for 5 years now & have always enjoyed our meals, & have always found the staff very friendly. This year it was just my son & myself, & we asked for takeaway to eat in our car, because we had our 2-year-old Cavoodle with us. We were then pleasantly surprised when the lovely staff said we could eat at an outdoor table, with our pup welcome (on her leash, of course)! My son & I loved our meals .. which included a crispy pork belly main & a cookie dough dessert to die for .. but the staff came out to greet our pup, and Melanie (so hope I've remembered her name correctly), even brought out a small food treat for our pup! We were thrilled, to say the least! I'd give this store & staff 10 stars if I could! Please give them a try for yourselves before you decide yay or nay!
Wow...that's all I can say. We went into Lone Star for dinner last Thursday night and enjoyed their current special of 3 courses for $30. Amazing value when added up the cost of individual items on the usual menu. The service was great, the waitress was very helpful in recommending a great cocktail to go with my meal. My steak was cooked a perfect medium-rare and with your choice of potato side or vegies, my meal was exactly how I wanted it. They cater to larger groups and have line-dancing to keep the kids entertained as well as providing complimentary peanuts to tables and colouring in for young kids.
We had a fantastic evening, and when leaving, the young waitress said that she hoped we all returned soon, and to have a safe trip home. It's the little things like this that sets Lone Star Glendale apart from some other casual dining restaurants in Newcastle.
The four of us who visited on Thursday evening will be returning again very soon!
