To be honest, this is one of my favourite Thai places!
The service is the best I've had - the owners are so, so lovely.
I've eaten here on more than one occasion (on which I was invited).
I took my parents here for a feed on father's day and this is how dedicated they are to serving their customers, they opened up just for us!
I had left a voicemail and they called me back within half an hour and I asked if I could make a reservation for the Sunday and was advised that they don't usually open on the weekend but would open up shop for us if we were certain to turn up and when we did turn up, they indeed had opened ...read more
Long Kin is a fun, casual and tasty Thai place in Pyrmont. We went with the owner recommendations and left feeling full and satisfied. The vegetarian spring rolls were a tasty starter and we followed this up with a tofu stir fry packed full of veggies. The turmeric grilled chicken worked well with the stir-fry and boiled rice and had a delicious chilli and tamarind sauce. Our favourite dish was the noodle with mixed seafood – soft & freshly made noodle with veggies, calamari, prawn, mussels and fish. To finish we just had room for dessert – black sesame ice cream and sticky rice with banana. Grab some friends, order some wine and enjoy some freshly made Thai food.
The menu is Central Thailand focused with many favorites you would come across in Bangkok. High grade ingredients, coupled with classic recipes and imaginative plating in a wide open space setting provides for a momentous dining experience.
What we had:
Marhor - Citrus base topped with finely shredded and pork floss, caramelised coconut and chilli
TOD MUN HUA PLEE: "Banana Blossom Cake" - banana blossom cake with red curry paste, house vinegar and sweet chilli sauce
SALT & PEPPER SOFT SHELL CRAB - with thai chilli sauce
LAMB CUTLETS with Thai style marinade and tamarind paste
CRYING TIGER SPINACH FETTUCINE - spinach fettucine with brown onion, black pepper basil, whole dried chilli topped with delicious grilled marinaded wagyu beef
Battered and deep fried banana coated and rolled with shards of unripe rice, grated coconut... Accompanied with coconut ice cream
This restaurant is located near Pyrmont and Bunn Sts. The interior is decorated with a mural of monkeys and exudes cheekiness. There is a stuffed monkey in another corner. Their aim is Thai cuisine with a modern twist. It was evident on the last page of the menu showcasing pasta with Thai flavours. It has only been open for 6 months but sure it will be a local favourite.
Our feast begun with Duck Pancake and Curry Puffs. Whilst the curry puffs were your traditional type with vegetables inside and a crunchy exterior, the pancake was something different we hadn't tried before. It was like a fluffy crepe mixture wrapped around duck and it was very tasty. ...read more
Long Kin is a Thai restaurant in Pymont run by husband and wife team, with Sutee running front of house and his wife Suweena running the kitchen.
The restaurant has a clean modern fit out scattered with some quirkyness. There are monkey figurines displyed on shelves with monkeys and bananas decorating the walls, along with some fun facts about bananas. So it goes Mr loves bananas and she loves monkeys.
The Long Kin menu is extensive, with some beautiful traditional Thai cusine and some dishes with a fun twist. A great place to visit as a group, as we did ...read more
