I would like to provide a review of the restaurant. Unfortunately my experience is rather negative. I am not from Melbourne but heard this was a great Latin restaurant. I rang (or rather the hotel rang for me) and asked for directions, and off I went. Almost an hour travelling from the city by tram and then a taxi, I arrived at the restaurant for lunch. I was advised that "we don't do lunch on Fridays." I then indicated that I had travelled from the city for an hour and rung before we had come, They said we're not sure who you spoke to.. They refused to take responsibility for their actions. They then indicated that I should go to the shopping centre for 4 hours until they open. Ridiculous. Treat customers like idiots and you won't have them return. I can't bring myself to go to a place like this if this is what they think.
After reading a write up in the local paper, my girlfriends and I decided to try this little gem out. We were greeted by Mario who made suggestions from the menu for us. We were not disappointed by his choice of tasty food. Servings were big and prices very cheep. I will definitely be recommending Los Latinos to friends and family.
nestled among a "blink & you'd miss it" row of strip shops, Los Latinos is the epitome of the term hidden gem! Offering a trip across the South American continent via its culinary fare & throwing in Mexico for good measure, Los Latinos serves up interesting, tasty, rarely seen food in a quaint setting with ultra friendly staff. We went for their biggest seller for entree. crab cakes with salsa & sour cream...sounds simple but the taste was off the charts! Then we shared their specialty, empanadas. For me, not so great. But the main restored my faith & desire. Fajitas that were so tasty & saucy. Yep I'm coming back...again & again! Did i mention they're pretty cheap too? Yep! A winner!
Small, yet cosy! Was really busy for a Sunday night. Located in between a strip of shops, make it great for locals to dine out. No need to head into the city to try mexican food!
Food was really delicious and authentic!
Service could be a little bit more better, however i still highly reccommended that you try this restuarant.
