Lotus Restaurant & Dumpling Bar
From slickly modern private dining rooms to texture-rich ceramics and stone, highlighted by natural light flooding into what must have been a difficult u-shaped space, DS17 have taken the lessons of Alpha and outdone themselves here. Go for the dumplings, like Steamed Mud Crab and Pork Xiao Long Bao ($21/4) and Steamed Scallop Siu Mai ($14/4) – loaded with the expected premium fillings, and boasting lovely thin skins. I also recommend their compelling Baked BBQ Pork Bun ($9/3).
Great restaurant in the galleries, just off George St. I've been to the lotus on Hickson road before and loved it. This one is the same, just a lot larger. Design and styling is very nice and would be great for a family dinner, date night or party. I was here with friends and we were so busy talking that I ordered for everyone with the waitresses help and suggestions. The waitress was super competent and helpful. Excellent service. Between three of us, we got 4 plates of dumplings, greens and a chicken dish. Probably needed one more dish. The jade dumplings are filled with prawns are were the favourite dish! So this was at their new place "The Galeries" in CBD, the place was trendy and fancy with a nice looking bar..... Came about lunch time at 1pm and they sold outtheir signature dishes so i stick with the normal dumplings and soup dumplings. It was ok nothing nothing great, the dumpling was lacking in flavours and the peanut spicy won ton was bitter for some reason ..... Will revisit and try their signature dumplings so until next time.... Keep eating!!!
The food is certainly amazing. The space is open and bright with beautiful furniture and interiors. The area is u shaped so f you are looking for an intimate area for a special occasion then this restaurant is great. Then do yum Cha high tea here so I'll most certainly be coming back.
Got the chance to stop by for their Launch.
All the dumplings that were on offer were delectable! There were the usual prawn, seafood, vegetarian, mushroom or fungi.
