Note that this review is from 2017 but it hadn't saved previously.
I have spent thousands of dollars with Louella DeVille Boutique including a Pin Up photo shoot. All was good until I dared to publicly provide a review about a sale dress that I felt was poor quality. I was sent a link to provide the review but Bec can clearly not cope with less than positive reviews because she responded by email asking why 'I hadn't emailed her first' with all guns blazing! Quotes from the email she sent me 'clearly you have severe mental issues', that I was a 'sad old woman', and how 'horrible I was to deal with' on my photo shoot. Looking at other reviews, I am clearly not the only one. Strange and awful customer service.
The clothing I ordered was faulty, sizing was off by quite a few inches compared to other pin up brands. The owner refuses to contact me and I have been blocked from her pages. Suggest if you are plus size stay away otherwise you will be called a "fat cow"
I also just received a faulty skirt and another skirt was off by a couple of inches in the waist, different to size stated for garment on website. Will refund or exchange only if I pay shipping both ways. Contacted dept of fair trading which tells me I do not have to pay shipping costs for exchange/refund because it was company’s mistake, goods do not match description.
Very disappointed.
Louella Seville very unhelpful and rude in their responses to my polite emails. Refuses to cover shipping cost for faulty goods.
Will be putting in a complaint with dept of fair trading.
Wish I had seen these reviews before.
I have never had such terrible customer service.
She called me a fat pig via email, she's quite the body shame fan isn't she.
All because I asked for a refund on a faulty dress.
As other reviewers have stated, LDV is good unless you have a problem with your order. Bek is rude, abrupt and condescending in her correspondence, and she takes days of chasing up to respond to emails.
One of the shop policies is to advise Bek when you're seeking a return or exchange. Don't bother checking if your size is in stock as she won't hold it anyway.
The quality to cost is also not quite right, and there's not a great deal of transparency about quality and materials used in the description.
I've left an objective 3 star review on the denim pinafore dress, its construction and quality and it hasn't been published. It appears only 5 star reviews make the cut.
Overall, the style and size range of LDV's clothing is great, the quality is OK, the price-point is high, and customer service needs a serious overhaul. I've ordered from LDV numerous times, but I won't be providing continued support for a company who treats its customers with the contempt that Bek does.
On looking at the 5 star reviews on true local, it does seem quite the coincidence that 6 of them were posted on April 8 and 9 2017.
Unfortunately I recently experienced the worst customer service I have ever had at this online store. This was because I wanted to return a faulty dress. The owner repeatedly ignored my communication asking for resolution of this issue, or replied saying she was too busy to deal with me. After 2 months I had no option but to successfully resolve this issue through PayPal. The communication from the owner involved fat shaming comments, considering all other pinup/rockabilly stores I have shopped at are happy to accommodate curvy ladies I found this most upsetting. In hindsight I would definitely have taken my money elsewhere.
