We wandered into the best little cafe in Mermaid Beach quite by accident last week, what did we find? A family run business, with fabulous food, and great staff who don't mind sharing a laugh and a few minutes of their time with you, even though they are extremely busy. Thanks for a beaut lunch, we will be back soon. Can recomend this cafe to anyone. It is very hard to find somewhere to relax these days, everyone is too busy to take any notice of you let alone share time with you.
The best kept secret on the Gold Coast!!! If you're hankering for an old fashioned homemade hamburger then this is the place for you. The burgers with the lot are huge and most importantly tasty, as only a homemade burger can be. The rest of the menu is a real winner too , the steak sangas are real fillet steak, and the chicken schnitzels are made there too.
They can also made a really great coffee which is always nice to find too.
I think the thing that makes it though is the staff... they actually seem like they enjoy being there. There is lots of laughter and a real sense of familiarity with a lot of the customers.. they seem to know them all by name.
I recommend anyone who hasnt tried The Lunch Basket... give it a go , you wont be sorry.
