LYNN Shanghai Cuisine
Sydney's Most Authentic Shanghai CuisineAnthony Bourdain once said the dumplings at Din Tai Fung were the best in the world - well the dumplings at LYNN are better!
Owners of Lynn, Dennis Chair and Teresa Tea have travelled the globe in search of perfect Shanghai cuisine. Fortunately for Sydney they have brought all their favourite dishes to Lynn at an affordable price as well as world renowned chef Bao Rong Lu.
Dining at LYNN is simply a magical experience that will bring you back for more. The restaurants interior has been fitted out by some of Sydney's best designers. Looking around the room you will be mesmerised by the quality of the handmade furniture and the beautiful artwork. The showpiece of the room is the enormous glass window which allows the restaurant customers to observe the kitchen theatre where Chef Bao and his team make Sydney's most authentic Shanghai cuisine.
The menu has been carefully designed to bring you an amazing selection of dishes including the famed and handmade xiao long bao, a selection of handmade noodle dishes and the drunken chicken which is arguably one of the best on offer in Sydney.
LYNN is conveniently located in the heart of Sydney's CBD on the ground floor of The Castlereagh Club which is on Castlereagh Street between Park and Bathurst Streets. The restaurant is only three minutes walk from Town Hall Station.

We went to a celebratory re-opening dinner at Lynn Shanghai restaurant in the Castlereagh club in the heart of Sydney city.
The restaurant has plenty of seating and accomodated this large group of foodies with ease. The kitchen is open, allowing you to watch the chef's in action making dumplings from scratch.
To celebrate the re-opening, we experienced a banquet of epic proportions. To start, we had china chilli bean jelly, thick noodles with a huge flavour kick ...read more
I had the pork and vege won tons with noodles. The meal was delicious and was served fairly quickly.
The low star rating regards the table service for the group I was dining with. The waiters took an age to serve other people at my table and when they did finally serve about 1.5 hours later, they had no idea who ordered what meal. This would have been fine if they had asked who ordered what, but they just put peoples and dishes in front of anyone at our table, and let us work it out!. This was not an easy feat on a table of about 20 people in a noisy restaurant which was packed for Friday lunch.
They also seemed to forget about some of the dishes we ordered, only partially deliver the meal or bring out a cancelled meal. I dont mind the occasional mistake from waiting staff but there was too many mistakes here to forgive!
I agree with mzthing. Such poor service. The food was so late that I couldn't even wait to have all of my lunch as my dumplings didn't even turn up after an hour and half. The staff had no idea what was going on. they even placed food on our table that was for the table next to us. I was responsible for paying the bill for the table. i asked what seemed to be the management. They brought the bill which may I add is very hard to read. It had items on there that we didn't even get. I only noticed this as I was looking very hard for them. I went to the till to pay which was fine and we left. Later they called the person with the booking to pay for a drinks bill which they had not been given at the table. I think how dare they ask for it after the fact when most of the group either left late back to work or still hungry. Would never return.
