M Deli is where the locals eat as it is off the main strip and is a bit of a hidden gem. Small wooden tables occupy a small eating area inside, or you can find one outside on the street. The staff will let you mix and match tables to accommodate different size groups, although as it is a small place you may want to keep the group small. When you step in the door, you will be greeted by a huge glass display counter showcasing the amazing food on offer. If you are overwhelmed by choice I recommend you try the Bircher Muesli, a BLT, or a poached egg on a roll with their famous Hollandaise sauce. The list of choices is quite extensive and you can expect to pay under $10-$15 for each. It is open for breakfast and lunch and it is a healthy way to start the weekend or enjoy a lunch with friends during the week.
This is my favourite breakfast spot in Sydney. I love my muesli, and as the person below has said, the type served here is second to none. The vibe is relaxed locals, and even though tables are limited, you never feel rushed out of this place, everyone is just chilling out, soaking up the delicious fresh food and atmosphere. All the food is displayed fresh in the cabinet, and I'm pretty sure you could order absolutely anything and you'll be satisfied. The lunch bagels are delicious, as is the salmon breakfast roll. The chicken sandwich is also always a winner. And if you can't decide between the delicious salads, get a mix of all of them. Honestly, this is my favourite spot. If ever I get a day off from work for some reason, this is where I go. Also, DO NOT LEAVE HERE without trying one of the oatmeal bites - they are incredible.
I am a muesli connoisseur - it cant be too rich with hidden dollops of cream so that it tastes like a dessert; it cant be too gluggy, like cold porridge, and it scores extra points if its nutty and served with fresh fruit and natural yoghurt. Thats why my all-time fave is the huge and delectable bircher/granola combo on offer at Tamaramas M Deli. It will rock your world. And you wont need to eat for hours, maybe even days.
