The first time I went here I was upset that this place has been here for so long and hadn't known about. FOMO big time.
This Italian restaurant has all your usual Italian food and they do it well. Must try the pizza they do the Margarita the best, you should also try the arancini oh and the fried zucchini flowers. Also it's not over priced like some other Italian places in Sydney.
Macchiato has been in this location for years already, but seemingly goes unnoticed (or so I thought) I popped in for a Monday night dinner and the place was PACKED.
We (2 people) didn't have to wait for a table, arriving around 7pm, but those who rocked up around 8pm did.
The menu has plenty of choice and food coming out of kitchen all looked good.
We shared a creamy penne with chicken and a carne pizza.
The salami on the pizza was spicy but the pizza base was a little floppy and soggy.
The pasta was aldente but sauce lacked a little flavour.
Service was relative quick and efficient.
Despite its name, this place does a pretty decent dinner!
If my sister had not booked this place for her birthday dinner, I would have always assumed this place was a café that only did coffee (just look at their name!!)
With a Italian menu, there is extensive choices, however I ended up going for the classic prawn pasta – which really hit the spot. It was cooked well and also their pizzas were just as good. Tasted like authentic wood fire but can’t confirm exactly how it was cooked.
The prices are pretty decent too which a $20 pop for a pizza, which explains why the place was totally packed out.
