This business took my money up front and had my garments for over 2 months. Every time l went in they said they hadn't done them. I went in and said that they have had them for quite a while now and could l have them by the following week. The staff got offended by this and said "I'll clean them tomorrow but won't probably get the stains out!!!" I told staff l can't come in tomorrow, next week will be fine so that staff had time to try to get the stains out. When l went in a week and a half later, the staff said l was in a ropeable mood so staff cleaned them straight away and now can't do any thing about the stains - the are set in the garment due to being dry cleaned.
They also charged me extra up front because staff was going to work on the stains by hand.
So be warned!!! Go to other dry cleaners not here.
Harley Barley, we are really sorry you had a bad experience at MRDC. As this review was so long ago, I can only assume the garment presented was badly stained on difficult fabric/or item and possible ended up in the 'too hard basket'. As you were charged extra for stain removal, I think this would be the case.
Dry cleaning will not set stains, however, staining will usually only set if someone has already tried to remove it without success or if it has been in for several months/years. A stain can remain in certain fabrics for months and still be removed succesfully, depending on type of stain/soiling. Dry cleaners have special stain removers that can achieve a greater success of removal.
It is customary of our store (and many dry cleaners) to take payment up-front. For us, it is purely in aide of keeping the prices down for you, our valued customer.
