They hide behind sub clauses.
It first started when they doubled my site clear quote once the contract was signed and my house was sold. The quote was12k plus $4k dumping to $25k plus up to $9k dumping. Apparently there was a rise in costs. But you would think that if I was an existing contract they would honor their quote (and words to get me to sell through them) but they didn't.
They ordered me to remove 19 meters of my boundary fence 10 days before handover (when it wasn't in the scope of works, when I asked them a month ...read more
Zina we are sorry to hear you are not happy with your experience. Every contract has clauses, ours is no different and nothing is hidden. We are sorry that you didn’t not read the contract prior to signing.
There was no contract for a site clear, a contract is a legally binding document and if there was a signed contract we would have honoured the contract. You were provided with a quote only, after the financial year the quote increased as with most businesses you assess your pricing and increase.
I read the contract. You doubled the quote, it was not a slight increase. Also, there was no stipulation in the contract that 19 meters of fence had to be removed. You photographed and circled everything that had to be removed and the fence was no mentioned. Only at the last hour did you decide to tell me then you basically blackmailed me with the fine print. Every single part of dealing with your company was horrendous. I hope that everyone reads this and steers clear.
Do not reccommend. I have put a 2000 word review up on Google my business.
The fence could have been taken down and reinstated, I am sorry that you choose to replace the fence and that it was costly but there was an alternative that would have been far cheaper. The contract you signed was a contract to on sell the home and give you $15,000 in exchange for the home, this was the agreement and we paid you the agreed price, as for the sale price it is very costly to transport removal homes. The sale price reflects the expense involved, it was a fair price in exchange for the home.
We always recommend everything in writing to save any miscommunication. No deals are ever made over the phone, we are a reputable company that has a contract so all parties are full of the terms and conditions prior to proceeding.
It was an old fence that could not be taken down and replaced. You sold my home for 89lk and gave me $15 which didnt even cover the site clear let alone the fence! Wayne your sales manager told me that what you were paying me would cover the cost of the site clear. You told me to remove the fence only 2 weeks before the demo date leaving me no time to negotiate with my neighbour. Removing the fence was not in the scope of works - it was only added at the end where you used the "fine print" to blackmail me into doing it. This was not a case of miscommunication. This was Mackay and Sons bullying me and not caring one bit about their clients. Buyers BEWARE.
Buyer beware. Their contract is vague ambiguous and totally one-sided. They have been so unbelievably incompetent and deceitful. Openly lied to us many times. They have taken no responsibility for any errors EVER. They have caused us no end of agony and thousands of unnecessary dollars spent. I have kept a complete log to verify every comment I have made. They are NOT to be TRUSTED.
Hi Juliez, we do not have a contract or a client on our files with your name. Please feel feel to call us to discuss any issues. Thanks
