Macleay Bookshop

I love this little bookshop. Quaint, cosy, yet vibrant. This shop is well stocked, knowledgable and friendly staff, gift wrapping is never a problem. Browsing is not frowned upon, so many booked packed into this small store I could spend hours in here.

Love this little bookstore that's bursting with character... its the sort of place you can just tuck away to and kill half an hour by browsing through the design books or contemporary fiction... This bookstore is one of a dying breed: owned by a single proprietor that is passionate about his books and his customers. With a literary focus this is a great place to go if you're into contemporary literature, cook books, social history or biography... also has an increasing range of design/gifty type books and gift cards.



Definitely not the place to go if you're after an extensive range of business books! Very small store but they pack a lot in... definitely phone ahead to see if you are after a particular title.



Good place to go to discover a book, rather than going there with a book in mind.

This bookshop has loads of character. I felt very free to sit by the garden (yes in the bookshop!) and read some books before I bought - for 2 hrs!
