Mad Mex - Fresh Mexican Grill

Mad Mex has got to be one of my go-to meal savers when I can't be bothered cooking, or am in desperate need of good food, quickly. I first discovered it a few years ago and keep coming back for their naked burritos, quesadillas and Jaritos (Mandarin is the best...).

There are so many franchise offerings down Chapel Street and this one takes my top prize for freshness and flavour. The salsas can be spicy, the guac is chunky and the slow braised meats are well seasoned.

I would take this over the any other Tex Mex in Melbourne any day. Winner.

Still a regular at this place as there aren't too many other healthy/fast options around. Quality is slipping though... Service is ok, but it's obviously now about money rather than great food. Much more of a sausage factory approach and the food is not always fresh. Recently went to find the lettuce they were using was very dodgy. In the ever expanding mexican food world, they need to lift their game!

So yummy for fast food! Healthy too. And $5 margaritas. Need I say more?

Over priced and lack of quality & quantity. They don't offer any meals/combos. You watch them as they make it and it taste equally as simple as it looks. The sauce lacks flavour, the meat is cheap low end quality and they charge an extra $2 for guacamole, that's so not worth it. The only positive thing I could say is that they're fast at getting the food out and it's well presented.
