Mad Mex
Mexican food with attitude!Mad Mex serves gourmet Baja-Mexican food. Baja (pronounced bah-ha) refers to the peninsula of land extending south of California into Mexico and the Pacific Ocean, and the food from this part of the world blends traditional bold Mexican flavours with the health-conscious cuisine of California. The result is a flavourful and healthy choice of tacos, burritos, nachos and quesadillas filled with roast, grilled and slow-cooked meats and black beans, all perfectly complimented by fresh produce and hand-made salsas. Low-fat, low-carb, dairy-free or gluten-free requirements are easily catered to, allowing all customers the opportunity to enjoy the bold and exciting flavours of Mad Mex.

Mad Mex at Macquarie Centre is a small restaurant located at the upper floor's newer food walkway. It occupies a slightly small space with its usual cafetaria style counter and has a lot of seats available on the rest of the shop floor, including communal table in the middle and several high benches.
The place has a slightly bright atmosphere, coupled with a busy ambiance and loud modern Mexican style artworks. Then there is the menu which tells you how to order, which can be quite of an exercise.
Despite being small, the place gets very busy during lunch time. However, the service is quite fast like an assembly line and you are likely to get your order ready in around a minute, thanks to the very prompt staffs.
The burritos are of good size, and you can also add guacamole for $2 extra. The food is always of fresh, good quality.
My 23 month old son, loves nothing more than to share a Nachos. So we are started to go to many Mexican food establishments across Sydney. As a family we don't just order Nachos but order a number of things.
True locals know they can go down the escalator and try a cheaper Mexican, but this Mad Mex is worth every penny. So much flavour and doesn't have to be spicy to be good. Really one of the better franchises and Macquaire doesn't let the team down.
Nachos comes as a decent serve and enough for my son and I to share for lunch. Well worth the visit.
