Baja (pronounced bah-ha) refers to the peninsula of land extending south of California into Mexico and the Pacific Ocean, and the food from this part of the world blends traditional bold Mexican flavours with the health-conscious cuisine of California. The result is a flavourful and healthy choice of tacos, burritos, nachos and quesadillas filled with roast, grilled and slow-cooked meats and black beans, all perfectly complimented by fresh produce and hand-made salsas. Originally Hesitant and now quite a fan. Mad Mex is a great place to eat - as they have both indoor and outdoor seating. I always find the staff very friendly and the food is always great. The good thing about eating here is the variety of food available and the choice to have it made how you want, with whatever sauces, fillings, meat etc you want. If you are over 18 you can even order a beer to accompany your meal. One of the features I love about the store is definitely the unique light fitting made out of beer bottles. Great place for lunch or a quick meal before or after the movies. I do recommend the churro's (Mexican donuts) with melted chocolate dipping sauce - yummo!!!!
Not a huge fan of spices I was a bit reluctant when everyone wanted to eat here (I might add I have never tried Mexican before), friends talked me through the menu and I ended up with a chicken burrito , rice and cheese and with no sauce - not a spice in sight! I was certainly impressed with the burrito, the staff were very friendly and helpful and finding a table was easy. The area was clean, great atmosphere and we ordered Churros that when cooked was brought over to our table. I will certainly be back!
Waldo you need a fast satisfying feed with a refreshing Sangria to wash it down, you could do worse than a visit to Mad Mex. While it's no Manuels of the eighties, you will enjoy a meal you design yourself.
