Makoto Chatswood
Three minutes from Chatswood station sits 'Makoto Chatswood', a Japanese sushi train restaurant that serves fantastically fresh hand rolled sushi. Skilled sushi chefs work behind the "train tracks" in a kitchen with nothing to hide. Cutting slithers of fresh salmon, tuna and preparing the rolls in front of your very eyes seven days a week, lunch and dinner for hungry customers.
Items are snatched off the train long before they even have the chance to go stale, and the conveyor belt is constantly being replenished with delicious new stock. There is also a a-la-carte menu, which features udon noodles, soups and rice and meat dishes prepared to order in the back kitchen.
An emphasis on seafood, with chicken, beef (wagyu rolls) and vegetarian alternatives. Complimentary green tea available free of ...read more

Makoto is one of the best sushi restaurant in the area. Always love the fatty tuna, even it is very pricy. Average price per head $50, sushi & hand roll are fresh. The only downside is the queue as sometimes you may wait up to 40 mins. Recommend this restaurant to everyone.
Never has a restaurant gone down hill so fast! New management are more concerned about making a buck then anything else.
The salmon is dry and 3/4 qtr the portions they were before, whilst the prices have gone up by 50c to $1 a plate. Same with my former favourites Karrage Chicken and soft shell crab which is half the size, though the crab is $1 cheaper than before. The soft shell crab is also smothered in mayo, to hide the poor quality and give it some ...read more
This place is always busy when I walk past it so I decide to have a try.
Although busy, there are always seats in the rear of the restaurant and I am always seated within seconds of arrival.
The sushi selection is great; it includes premium items like sea-urchins, salmon roe and quality tuna. There are also the standard choices of grilled salmon, barramundi, scallops, unagi, cooked tuna and etc.. What makes this sushi restaurant great is you can also order a small serve of udon in soup with chicken or tempura for $5 each.
The food is delicious and fresh; just what every customer looks for in a restaurant.
The wait staff are generally attentive although on one occasion our waitress made a mistake in one of our orders but that was corrected quickly without a fuss.
Definitely coming back.
