We only orders the half metre pizzas ?? and you can half half them if it's the same price
It took 20 mins to come out which is fine because they said it would take that long and they were right
Two of these half metre pizzas fed 5 of us
Had the pizza al pollo (the description states Marinated chicken but didn't feel it was as the chicken pieces were dry,it's ok), Cacciatore (liked this 2nd best as it had the strong flavours) Bufalina (my fav as there is a strong cheese taste to it) and Nonna Gina (had potato on it but was expecting more taste from this)
Good amount of topping with a thin base and puffy crust but one pizza was burnt a little at the bottom
Everyone enjoyed the pizzas ??
I couldn't take a good picture of the pizza in the big furnace which is a shame
I had the pizzas takeaway
Overall enjoyed our experience
This restaurant is located on King Street. There is a seating area in the front of the restaurant and more seating in the courtyard. It wasn't too bad sitting outside as they had the heat lamps on. The service is pretty friendly and always on hand.
We started with Prosciutto e Burrata. There was certainly plenty of food. The prosciutto was okay but could've been sliced more thinly as a bit chewy to taste. The burrata was lovely and creamy.
The Gnocchi Quattro Formaggi Asparagi E Tartufo Nero had gnocchi that had a very soft texture to it. Checked with waiter to see if it was meant to be like that and he confirmed that it was. Guess better than having rubber bullets. The sauce had a decent cheesy flavour. The Scaloppina Di Pollo With Porcini was a massive plate of chicken so you definitely wouldn't go hungry but the sauce was a tad heavy.
Overall you won't go hungry at this restaurant but a tad towards quantity over quality.
Marked by a wine barrel and golden light spilling onto King Street, Mama Rosy’s is a convivial Italian restaurant run by a tight-knit group of Sicilian family and friends. The arrival of our half-metre pizza board captures the cosy courtyard’s attention with high dough arches, draped in prosciutto with a ricotta crown. If you’re tucking into their four-course Italian banquet ($50/head) of antipasti, pasta, pizza and dessert, you’d be well advised to bring an appetite.
