Mamak

This is basically one of those random places that I decided to pick out one afternoon as I was wandering around the city looking for a place to grab something to eat. Well, it is certainly different because even though it at first glance appears Indian, it isn’t what I would consider an Indian restaurant. However, what they do do is make a pretty decent curry, and one that isn’t all that pricey either. Oh, and they also bring it out rather quickly meaning that it is one of those places to go to for lunch.

We ordered a salad dish with prawn crackers, cucumber and heaps of sauce. Not a big fan of the packed on sauce as it was too sweet. Can't go wrong with roti, nasi lemak and skewers.

Having been to Malaysia on numerous occasions, this is definitely my favourite place for Malaysian cuisine in Melbourne. They don't hold back on their spices here and you'll be satisfied knowing you're enjoying authentic Malaysian food. Recommend: Mi Goreng. Something different: try anyone of their selection of Rotis, you won't be dissapointed!

This place is great for Malaysian styled roti. They are famous for their hand made roti which is made on site. We got the roti canai and ordered a few more variations of it for our group of 4. The fish curry was simply devine and such a generous serving size. The flavours all came together really well. I also enjoyed the fried chicken (kaki ayam) and felt very satisfied! Super friendly and efficient service and very authentic flavours and experience. Beware of long lines on Friday evenings as this place is just so good!

food is good but the fact that they call them self halal restaurant and allow's alcholol is a bid disturbing!
