I discovered this place one evening as I was making my way through the city via the alleyways. Despite it being hidden away from the main thoroughfares, it still seems to attract a crowd. The first thing that struck me when I went up to the bar was that they do not have any standard beers available – they are all speciality beers from developing countries. They also have a pretty decent menu as well, which is why I decided to come here for some dinner. One thing that I didn't notice the first couple of times was that they also have a band room out the back. On really cool thing about this place though is that all of the profits go to supporting projects in developing countries.
Not the best jazz bar in Melbourne in that the music is fun but fairly orthodox and bluesy. Lots off different levels accentuate the versatility of a venue that is bar, jazz club and restaurant. Food is worth the high prices. I just wish more people were up and dancing.
