Tucked away down graffitied Rankin lane is Manchester Press, a bustling bagel house full of atmosphere and hipster patrons. The portions are big and sides are pretzels and pickles. The bagels were great, the savoury options are your usual fare but they do some spectacular sweet bagels made perfectly for instagram. We sat round a communal reclaimed wood table top with other parties and just relaxed and watched the world go by. The only issue was that they charge extra for swapped ingredients which is slightly annoying but fair.
Definitely a go-to place in busy Melbourne. The area itself is worth a walk around and a look at all the amazing street art. Is everyone in Melbourne talented with a paint brush?!
Bagels bagels bagels, definitely stop here if you like bagels because they are very very good bagels. After a lot of tossing up, I ordered a Reuben bagel and it was great. The portion size was a little too big for me with pretzels on the side which I loved but could not finish it all. I would love to try their rainbow bagel next time I'm in Melbourne because it looks super pretty and soft (peeked on another table). It does get quite packed so be prepared to wait for a table.
Manchester Press is know for their bagels. I have been here a year ago and have recently been back. The menu has changed and so have the taste and quality of it. The old menu used to offer tastier options to choose from.
A good thing is that their customer service hasn't dropped. Their coffee taste was average but credits to having creative coffee art presentation!
