Manmaru is housed on a Marrickville Road, and the area is home to a host of good cafes. Competition is good but also tough. Manmaru stands out with a menu that infuses Japaneese ingredients and techniques into its offerings. Additionally, vegan and vegetarians are well looked after with their chalkboard menu paying equal attention to both camps. If you visit, you have to try the koji scrambled eggs and for meat lovers, add the sausage, you'll thank me later. A Beetroot, Tofu, Koji corn, Cherry Tomato Quiche with house made Salsa Verde was delicious! I loved how the tofu absorb the flavours of the beetroot and mixed in with the salsa verde it was light with pronounced flavour. Owner Takoko is not subscribing to the latest foodtrends, rather, cooks food she enjoys cooking and she has pedigree on the pastry front with medals from the Sydney fine food show. The Graff Caff has been a long-loved venue of us for quite a while. Recently, the family relaunched their little café while Erich, one half of the dynamic duo who runs this amazing eatery, was on holiday. To his surprise, he came back to a Japanese-inspired café with the interior designed by his artistically-gifted daughter, Lara.

The talents of both their children are showcased in both the decor and menu. The revival of The Graff Caff had some big shoes to fill but we feel they’ve done a great job introducing a new theme to the café. We’ll be back soon!
