What a gorgeous place to laze away a Sunday afternoon. This gallery cum restaurant cum homemade produce heaven is the original family home and now loving endeavour of talented artist Marian Rennie. Set in untold acres of lush Victorian countryside, on a back road requiring navigation of several tiny one-lane bridges, Rennies feels like your own private 'find'. The dining room and gallery - a lofty-ceilinged, airy and eclectic room with a large adjoining patio and several connected buildings - is crammed with a huge variety of Marian's striking paintings and ceramics. We had beautiful wood-fired pizzas and a salad made with produce picked directly from the garden when we ordered it. (Before the afternoon was over, we had even ventured into the garden with Marian to pick our own pile of sun-warmed tomatoes, rocket, basic, pumpkins and more to take home with us.)
